Human Umbilical Cord-Derived Multipotent Mesenchymal Stromal Cells

Mesenchymal stem/stromal cells (MSC) are self-renewing cells that hold great therapeutic promise in the field of cell-based tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. They are used for the prevention or treatment of Graft versus Host Disease (GvHD) and co culture of cord blood cells with MSC results in improved expansion of hematopoietic progenitors.(1,2,3)

CellGro® hUC-MSC are isolated from umbilical cord tissue by enzymatic digestion after removal of vessels. The cells are assayed for their capacity to expand, their immuno phenotype, and for their potential to differentiate in vitro into adipogenic, osteogenic and chondrogenic lineages.


CellGro® hUC-MSC have been cultured serum-free before freezing using CellGro® MSC Medium containing 5 ng/ml CellGro® FGF-2
